Protein for the Next Generation of Shrimp

Feeding the growing world population is becoming increasingly more complex, with global consumption of livestock, poultry, and fish estimated to double by 2050. To meet these needs, Aquaculture needs more sustainable protein alternatives that support the precise nutrition needs of shrimp while minimizing negative environmental impacts.
Our solution, POET® Corn Fermented protein (CFP), a next-generation protein ingredient derived from the dry-mill bioethanol production process. CFP is a post-fermentation separation product, which provides you with a digestible 50 percent protein along with the inactive Saccharomyces cerevisiae yeast nutrients. This provides CFP with an improved amino acid profile, greater digestibility, energy and phosphorus availability compared to other corn-based alternatives. We have built our reputation on quality and reliable service to our customers. When you evaluate protein ingredients, choose CFP for your feed formulation needs.
Our extensive research has lead us to recommend this novel protein source at a 12 to 18% inclusion of POET CFP into your shrimp diets, replacing plant protein concentrates and marine protein sources. The addition of CFP to your diets not only improves the growth potential of your shrimp but also improves your return on investment!
The benefits are clear – CFP is a smart choice for aquaculture producers around the globe!

Replacing Plant & Marine Protein
Key Findings:
In an eight-week trial, POET CFP replacement of corn gluten meal (CGM) resulted in 9.5% increase in final mean weights and 12% improvement in feed conversion rates. Final treatment, POET CFP also replaced 2.5% of fish meal resulting in same 9.5% increase in final weight and 12% improvement of feed conversion rates.

Replacing Plant Protein Concentrate
Key Findings:
POET CFP is an economical alternative for complete replacement of Corn Protein Concentrate (CPC) (75% protein). When fed up to 20% inclusion, CFP resulted in equivalent weight gain and feed conversion ratio (FCR).

Replacing Marine Protein
Key Findings:
POET CFP is an economical alternative for complete replacement of Corn Protein Concentrate (CPC) (75% protein). When fed up to 20% inclusion, CFP resulted in equivalent weight gain and feed conversion ratio (FCR).

Targeting Inclusion: Replacing Plant and Marine Protein
Key Findings:
POET CFP replacing a combination of fish meal and soybean meal yielded similar or improved performance, up to 18% inclusion and resulted in an additional $82 savings in total feed cost per ton.
