POET to outline ethanol’s contributions
to America's economy, environment and security

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Feb. 19, 2009) – Progress of the American ethanol industry toward reducing dependence on foreign oil, cutting greenhouse emissions, invigorating rural economies and more will be outlined by POET next week at a top renewable energy conference in Las Vegas, Nev.

Doug Berven, POET's Director of Corporate Affairs, will address attendees on Thursday, Feb. 26 at RETECH 2009, the Renewable Energy Technology Conference and Exhibition at the Las Vegas Convention Center. His speech will be during the Ethanol – Global Market Drivers & Outlook session from 4:30-6 p.m.

Ethanol displaces more gasoline each year, and its environmental benefits continue to improve. A recent study from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln found that ethanol today reduces greenhouse gas emissions by an average of 51 percent over gasoline.
