POET hires General Managers for two ethanol production facilities under construction in Ohio

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (June 9, 2008) – POET announced the hiring of two general managers for ethanol production facilities that are under construction in Northern Ohio. Jeff Henkel has joined the company as the General Manager for POET Biorefining – Fostoria and Scott Case has joined the company as General Manager for POET Biorefining – Marion.

Henkel brings significant experience in maintenance operations management to his position with POET. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering and a Master of Science degree in nuclear engineering from Ohio State University. POET Biorefining – Fostoria will produce 65 million gallons of ethanol and 178,000 tons of Dakota Gold Brand DDGS per year. The facility is more than 80 percent complete and is expected to be finished in the fourth quarter of 2008.

Case comes to POET with over 20 years of operational and managerial experience in chemical manufacturing environments. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from California State Polytechnic University at Pomona. POET Biorefining – Marion will produce 65 million gallons of ethanol and 178,000 tons of Dakota Gold Brand DDGS per year. The facility is more than 77 percent complete and is expected to be finished in the fourth quarter of 2008.
