POET-DSM Advanced Biofuels executives to speak at 2014 Fuel Ethanol Workshop in Indianapolis

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (June 4, 2014) – Executives from cellulosic bio-ethanol leader POET-DSM Advanced Biofuels will speak at the upcoming Fuel Ethanol Workshop (FEW), which will be conducted June 9-12, 2014, in Indianapolis. The FEW is in its 30th year and is one of the key annual conferences of the global ethanol industry.

James Moe, President, POET Design & Construction / POET Plant Management and member of the POET-DSM board will lead off the company’s participation in the Producer Round Table discussion, “Investing in Ethanol’s Next Stage,” at 9:20 a.m. on June 10. Moe, as part of the four-person panel, will discuss the pathways to growth in the ethanol industry, including cellulosic ethanol production in plants like POET-DSM Advanced Biofuels’ Project LIBERTY, which currently is completing construction in Emmetsburg, Iowa. Project LIBERTY will have a commercial production capacity of 25 million gallons annually, when at full capacity.

Steve Hartig, General Manager – Technology Licensing for POET-DSM Advanced Biofuels, will participate in a Cellulosic and Advanced Ethanol track panel at 1:30 p.m. on June 10 CT with the subject “Moving Past Construction and onto Commissioning at North America’s First Class of Cellulosic Ethanol Plants.” Hartig will discuss POET-DSM Advanced Biofuels’ plans to license its cellulosic ethanol conversion technology package to ethanol producers who want to expand their ethanol business.

Adam Wirt, POET Biomass Logistics Director, will join a panel discussion at 1:30 on June 11 to address “Biomass Collection and Storage Techniques and How they Impact Downstream Conversion and the Bottom Line.” Wirt will speak from the perspective of his more than seven years’ involvement on behalf of POET in test harvests, research collaborations, storage and handling trials and equipment collaborations that have resulted in creation of POET-DSM’s EZ Bale System.

Kevin Potas, Director of Business Development for POET-DSM Advanced Biofuels, will present an Innovation Showcase in the exhibition hall on Wednesday, June 11 at 12:40 p.m., discussing recent findings on corn stover nutrient removal. The research was conducted under the direction of POET in conjunction with USDA’s Douglas L. Karlen and John L. Kovar and Iowa State University’s Stuart J. Birrell.

In addition to the above speakers, POET-DSM also will present a display in the Fuel Ethanol Workshop Exhibition in space #1231. The company will highlight its industry-leading biomass harvesting and collection experience with multimedia presentations and a variety of collateral materials. POET-DSM also will have cellulosic experts available to discuss technology and licensing with qualified workshop attendees.
