POET CEO to discuss the biorefinery of the future during plenary session of 2008 BIO World Congress


Jeff Broin to discuss feedstocks, technology, energy sources and co-product streams of the future ethanol biorefinery

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. POET CEO Jeff Broin will speak about the biorefinery of the future during a plenary session of the BIO World Congress on April 29 in Chicago. Broin will be joined at the session by Steen Riisgaard, CEO of Novozymes, and Richard Hamilton, CEO of Ceres.

Broin’s speech will be a look back at the evolution of the modern ethanol biorefinery and what it will look like in the future. Among other aspects he will discuss the coming diversification of feedstocks, emerging technologies, alternative energy sources and new co-product streams.

The Fifth Annual World Congress on Industrial Biotechnology and Bioprocessing will be held April 27-30 at the Hilton in Chicago, Ill. The plenary session that includes Mr. Broin is on Tuesday, April 29 from 12:15-2:15 pm.
