Missouri Ethanol Grand Opening Set for Monday, Sept. 25

Sioux Falls, S.D. - Broin Companies, the nation’s largest dry mill ethanol producer, announced today that the grand opening for Missouri Ethanol will be Monday, Sept. 25 on the plant site near Laddonia, Mo. The event will begin with public tours of the facility at 9:30 a.m. followed by a fly-over from the Vanguard Squadron - the world’s only 100 percent ethanol-powered aerobatic fleet - at 10:45 a.m. The speaking program will begin at 11 a.m. with lunch being served at noon. Public tours will resume from 1-3:30 p.m.

The 60-minute program will include several speakers, including U.S. Senators Kit Bond and Jim Talent, U.S. Congressman Kenny Hulshof, Missouri State Senator John Cauthorn, Missouri House Speaker Rod Jetton, Missouri Corn Growers and Merchandising Council CEO Gary Marshall and Broin Companies CEO and President Jeff Broin.

The public tours of the facility will be conducted by engineers and designers from Broin Companies. Tours will start on the southeast side of the plant’s grains building. Tour participants will not be allowed to use cameras, cell phones or video equipment while inside the plant.

Various public parking locations around Laddonia have been established: Odd Fellows Lodge; Laddonia Ballpark; Laddonia City Park; near Casey’s Convenience Store along highway 54/19 and on the corner of 1st Street and East Pine. Buses will run continuously to and from each location throughout the day. Public Parking will not be allowed at the plant site.

Missouri Ethanol will consume approximately 17 million bushels of locally-grown corn to produce 45 million gallons of ethanol and 134,000 tons of premium Dakota Gold Enhanced Nutrition Distillers Products™.
Built through a partnership between Broin Companies, East Central Ag Products and North East Missouri Grain, LLC in Macon, Mo., the plant will employ 40 full-time employees with an annual payroll of approximately $1.8 million.
