SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (August 6, 2007) – POET will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for POET Biorefining – Fostoria, their ethanol production facility near Fostoria, Ohio, on August 16. The ceremony will start with a speaking program at 1:00 PM in the Roppe Corporation Training Center (1616 North County Line Street). Following the speaking program, buses will shuttle attendees to a groundbreaking ceremony at the plant site. The public is invited to attend both activities.
The Northern Ohio community of Fostoria is located in Seneca County 40 miles southeast of Toledo. POET Biorefining – Fostoria, a $130 million production facility, will be located approximately 1.5 miles northeast of Fostoria on Highway 12 and Yokum Road.
At 60 million gallons of ethanol per year (MGPY), POET Biorefining – Fostoria will consume 21 million bushels of locally grown corn and produce 178,000 tons of premium Dakota Gold Enhanced Nutrition Distillers Products™. Ethanol marketing for the facility will be provided by POET Ethanol Products and byproducts will be marketed by POET Nutrition. The facility will utilize rail service from Norfolk Southern.
