Sioux Falls, SD - Great Plains Ethanol, LLC today approved plans to continue their expansion process increasing plant size from a nameplate of 40 million gallons per year (mgpy) to 100 million gallons per year.
The company originally announced preliminary intentions to expand in November 2005. According to current plans, construction will begin in summer 2006. The expansion will be constructed by the Broin Companies.
Great Plains Ethanol, LLC, a Premier Partner with and built by the Broin Companies, is located near Chancellor, SD and began production in March 2003.
Broin Companies, based in Sioux Falls, SD, began building ethanol plants in 1987 and provides turnkey development, design/build, management and product marketing services for their partner facilities. As the second largest producer in the industry, the Broin Companies have designed and constructed 21 operating ethanol plants and currently have nine projects under construction or development. The Broin Companies produce, manage, and market more than 700 million gallons of ethanol annually.
