Broin Companies Reach Billion Gallon Milestone

Tuesday, June 20, 2006

Sioux Falls, SD - In a summer that has already seen unprecedented focus on ethanol as a solution for reducing dependence on traditional fossil fuel-based energy supplies, the Broin Companies are approaching a growth achievement of their own.

Combining the production from plants now in operation and those currently under construction, the Broin Companies will push past the one billion gallon mark in annual ethanol production.

For a company that began by producing ethanol in 1985 from a small-scale plant at a farm in rural Minnesota, it’s a significant accomplishment. "Within the next 12 months, Broin Companies will surpass one billion gallons of ethanol production annually," said Broin Companies CEO Jeff Broin. "This is a tremendous milestone for our organization, making our plant network the largest dry mill ethanol producer in the U.S."
