Broin Companies Agrees to Dismiss Lawsuit Against Genencor

Sioux Falls, SD - Broin Companies has agreed to dismiss its lawsuit against Genencor International Inc. Both parties have agreed not to disclose details pertaining to the dismissal.

The lawsuit alleged misuse of Broin Companies’ confidential and proprietary information surrounding its patent-pending BPX™ (Broin Project X) Technology.

Genencor and Broin held a business relationship prior to the lawsuit and Broin has not ruled out the possibility of resuming the relationship in the future.

"Broin Companies will continue to strongly protect all of its intellectual property and proprietary technology," said Broin Companies CEO Jeff Broin.

The Broin Companies are a highly specialized and integrated technology development, production, management, and marketing company in the ethanol industry. As the second largest producer in the industry, the Broin Companies have designed and constructed 22 operating ethanol plants and currently have nine projects under construction or development. The Broin Companies produce, manage, and market more than 700 million gallons of ethanol annually.
